The line between live wedding painting being a keepsake product and guest entertainment is a bit fuzzy. I totally get that! Couples looking to hire a live wedding painter as a way to entertain their guests may feel that it is their responsibility to hire the artist. However, friends and family who view live wedding painting as a keepsake gift may want to purchase the service. Who’s right?!
I don’t mean to confuse you, but everyone’s right! Here are a few ways and reasons why different people may want to purchase the live wedding painting service:
The couple may want to absorb the cost of hiring a live wedding painter because the service is an absolute must on their vendor list! They know a live artist will not only create a keepsake painting that they can treasure long after the wedding day, but guests will get a kick out of watching the artist’s progress over the course of the evening.
Brides and grooms may also want to be the ones to determine which live wedding painter they hire. Just like wedding photographers, live wedding painters all have a unique style, aesthetic, and client experience. The couple may prefer to choose which artist’s work they would want to have live in their home.
Since live wedding painting results in a keepsake painting (an object), Mothers and Fathers of the Bride and/or Mothers and Fathers of the Groom may want to gift a live wedding painter’s services to the couple! This could be done in the form of a surprise, or simply absorbing the cost so that the couple doesn’t have to. The families could even ask the live wedding painter to focus on capturing the couple and the families, perhaps during the Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dances!
Live wedding painting is definitely an investment. It’s an investment that may be best suited towards a group of friends pooling their monetary resources to gift the couple something extra special.
Perhaps the bridesmaids all contribute to gift a bride a live wedding painting service during her bridal shower? Or co-workers who may not all be invited/able to attend the wedding gift their colleague? There are so many possibilities!
How does that all sound? There’s really no wrong way to have a live wedding painter on your gorgeous day! And, no, I didn’t plan that rhyme…
