JEKYLL ISLAND CLUB LIVE WEDDING PAINTING | DESTINATION LIVE PAINTER
As a traveling wedding professional, I get to see and experience all types of weddings (both large and small)! But, there was something truly special about this micro wedding down in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
Hope and Tyler were originally planning on marrying in Annapolis, Maryland at the United States Naval Academy chapel. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the Navy denied Tyler’s leave to marry and restricted his travel. Instead of completely panicking, Hope and Tyler sprung into action to plan a completely new (but just as meaningful) big day. They cut their guest list and chose the Jekyll Island Club down on Jekyll Island, Georgia (a state that had fewer COVID-19 related restrictions than Maryland). This decision not only allowed my couple to rent out the entire Crane Cottage, but dedicate extra effort and attention to some incredible details (particularly the florals)!
Hope and Tyler’s live wedding painting has quickly become not only one of my favorites, but a fantastic example of creativity and personalization. The couple chose a “Just the Two of Us” experience on my largest 24×30″ canvas. Hope requested a first dance painting, but she had two specific requests:
Hope had chosen her wedding gown to suit their original Annapolis wedding. Once it became clear they were not going to be able to execute that plan, the sudden need to alter their wedding date put the completion of her original wedding gown in jeopardy. And so, she purchased a back up dress just in case! Hope decided to wear both gowns on the big day, but asked that their painting capture the original.
I am so grateful Hope and Tyler did not allow COVID-19 to pause their love story! Although their wedding may not have gone exactly as planned, we all agreed it was, somehow, even more magical. Scroll through some of my favorite images captured by their extremely talented photographers, Love and Covenant, below.
Congratulations H & T! I wish you many many years of love and happiness!
