There is no shortage of gorgeous wedding venues in picturesque Charlottesville, but Keswick Vinyards is definitely super special. Featuring not only a plethora of fairytale like fields of vineyards, but a historic white mansion, it’s basically a live wedding painter’s paradise. You can imagine my excitement when my groom Tim reached out with the idea to surprise his bride with a live painting experience!

My bride Kelley had absolutely no idea of the surprise in store for her. Tim came up with a wonderful plan to send Kelley bits and pieces of clues throughout the morning of the wedding that would ultimately lead to her walking up the path and seeing me! Be sure to check out her amazing reactions in the images and video below. She was so surprised excited to have their special day captured in such a unique way!

ABOUT THE LIVE WEDDING PAINTING

During our phone consultation, Tim, my groom, inquired as to whether or not it was possible to incorporate numerous different details into the one live wedding painting. He really wanted to not only capture the vineyards, but the exterior of the beautiful white mansion itself. Of course it’s possible, I said! And so, since they were holding their ceremony on the front steps of the mansion, we decided it would be best to feature a ceremony exit scene.

Another important detail Tim wondered if I could incorporate was their two dogs! They weren’t able to celebrate with everyone at the venue on the wedding day, and so Tim wondered if I could include them in the painting to envision what it would have been like if they were there with us. Of course!
