Q. What Should I Consider When Hiring a Live Wedding Painter?

Answer: When choosing a live wedding painter, I always recommend the following:

• Style: make sure the artist’s style matches your vision. Take a look at their portfolio to see if their work resonates with you. This is where I spend a lot of time before your wedding chatting and getting to know you as individuals and as a couple so I can capture your true essence through my painting.
• Experience: look for a painter with experience in live events and weddings to ensure they can handle the dynamics of the day. I’ve traveled throughout the U.S. and internationally to capture weddings of different sizes and styles.
• Personality: since the painter will be interacting with your guests, choose someone whose personality fits well with the atmosphere you want to create. This one’s a no-brainer to me, and part of the joy I get as your painter is chatting with your guests as 

Q. How Long Do Wedding Paintings Take to Complete?

Answer: The live painting process occurs during your wedding, but the finishing touches are done afterward in my studio. I strive to complete about 99% of your painting by the end of the evening (especially the background, scene, and couple). However, the vast majority of my couples prefer I take the painting home with me for safe keeping (especially after a night of partying). Typically, you can expect to receive your completed painting within a few weeks of your wedding day.

Q. Can You Include Special Details in the Painting?

Answer: Absolutely! I love incorporating special details that are meaningful to you. From the colors of your bridal party’s attire to significant symbols or elements of your venue. I can include these personal touches to make the painting even more subjective to you as a couple. I can also incorporate multiple moments from your wedding so you don’t have to choose just one!

Q. Is it Possible to Add Details that Aren’t Present on the Day?

Answer: Without a doubt. I’ve painted for people who wanted to include loved ones or pets that couldn’t be at the ceremony. Simply provide me with a picture of what or who you’d like added, and these special touches are completed at my studio as part of the final artwork.

Q. Do You Paint Guest Portraits? 

Answer: Yes! Some couples hire me to paint guest portraits as part of the entertainment. They also serve as a lovely keepsake for your family and friends. Or, perhaps there’s a special guest you’d like to treat to a portrait with the bride and groom. These are all possibilities we can discuss at our initial consultation.

Q. Do You Only Work at Specific Locations? Or Can You Travel for Weddings? 

Answer: If you’re planning a destination wedding, then I’m your gal! I’m fortunate enough to have a pilot for a husband, so I’m used to traveling. Also, I can often do it as cost-effectively as possible for you. I’m currently on a personal mission to live paint a wedding in every US state and territory, so perhaps your wedding can help me fulfill this!

Q. How Far In Advance Should I Book You for Our Wedding?

Answer: Many couples book me at least 7-8 months in advance of their wedding. Please bear in mind that Saturdays are very popular and are often booked out up to 12 months in advance. Fill out the contact form on my website and I can schedule a consultation with you to chat further.

Answer: Some of my favorite moments to capture include the first kiss, walking up the aisle, and first dance. For me, these moments are truly special and seal your journey going forward together. Live event painting requires a lot of trust from my clients to let my creativity flow.
