Last May, I had the privilege to attend and live paint Brittany and Ben’s gorgeous wedding day at one of my absolute favorite local venues: the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, Maryland! When I say it was gorgeous, I mean it. Every single detail captured by their talented photographer, Manda Weaver Photography, felt like it was out of a dream!
Not only were Brittany and Ben absolutely stunning, but their gorgeous venue, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club (located only a few minutes from where I got married on Maryland’s Eastern Shore) is recognized as the region’s premiere venue for extraordinary waterfront weddings. Alas, it’s one of my local favorites. Manda captured the big day so well, adding her signature fine art touch to every photograph. First, I have to give a huge shout out to the Bride’s mom who actually found me and inquired about Brittany and Ben’s big day! Once she connected me with Brittany (the Bride), we started to chat all things live painting.
Brittany requested that I capture their first dance with the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club’s quintessential view of the Bay and Bay Bridge in the background. However, when I arrived to set up on the wedding day, the best place for me to stand and paint actually had the large windows overlooking the water behind me. This meant a long wall would, technically, be featured behind Brittany and Ben in their first dance painting. And so, I flipped the view! This is part of the magic of having a live wedding painting. With a painting, an artist has the freedom to “create” a moment or view. In this case, it meant I had the artistic freedom to add in a gorgeous view that wouldn’t necessarily appear in their wedding photographs. You can see exactly what I mean in these iPhone snapped behind the scenes photos below!
Another hyper personal element of their completed live wedding painting is the addition of their dog who, unfortunately, could not be present to celebrate with all of us on the big day!

Brittany and Ben, thank you again for giving me the chance to create a one-of-a-kind wedding heirloom for you. I sincerely hope you have loved it as much as I loved creating it! I’m still a bit blown away that it’s been a year since your special day. Happy Anniversary!
