You’ve booked your live wedding painter! YAY! Well, first, THANK YOU for supporting a live wedding painter in the first place! Second, if you happen to still be in need of a live wedding painter, don’t miss out! Head on over here to see what all of the fuss is about here! Now, let’s get back to the good stuff. You’ve hired your live wedding painter. Now what? You’re probably super anxious excited (I know I definitely was)! But, surely there are ways to make a live wedding experience THAT much more awesome? Of course there are! Whether your big day is a day or a year away, here are four ways to make your live wedding painting more special!
You can totally leave the artistic documenting to your photographer. Consider allowing your live wedding painter to get creative! Whether your ceremony and reception are in different locations or not, a live wedding painting can capture multiple moments in one! Perhaps you would love for your painter to paint your ceremony in the background at left, but your reception in the foreground at right? Or, perhaps, your first kiss at left and your first dance at right? There are so many possibilities, so don’t be afraid to discuss them!

This is definitely a personal favorite suggestion of mine. Unlike your amazing wedding photographer, a live wedding painter may not necessarily be “married” to having to capture your wedding EXACTLY as it is. If you happen to have some family or friends who have either passed on or will not be able to attend the wedding, a painting is the perfect way to honor them. What a way to create a memory, am I right?
Here, the bride requested likenesses of her grandmother and husband’s father lovingly be added to the painting. Unfortunately, both have passed on, but were honored in the painting.
Trust me, as someone who had a live wedding painter at her own wedding, guests will be asking about the painting months after your big day has passed! Just put yourself in their shoes. They only got to see a part of the process, whereas you get to live with the final heirloom happily ever after! Save them the trouble of tracking you down by asking your live wedding painter to take a high res photograph of the final painting and print them on thank you cards!
TIP: Ask your painter to take care of this part! From the colors to the texture, your live wedding painter will know how to make your painting look its best when photographed. Also, taking a photo for that kind of use yourself may breach your contract with them, so always be sure to ask.
On par with printing the final painting on your thank you notes, but definitely more formal. Again, leave this to your live wedding painter. They’ll know how to not only photograph it best, but print it!
