The Process: from Blank Canvas to Masterpiece

You might be wondering how the magic happens. Well, let me take you behind the scenes of live wedding painting:

1. Pre-wedding consultation: We’ll chat about your vision, favorite colors, and any specific details you want to include. This helps me understand your style and preferences. Just as you’d expect from a photographer, I take the time to get to know you as a couple so that your personality shines through.
2. Setting up: I’ll arrive early on the big day to set up my easel and materials. I don’t need a lot of space to paint so I’ll position myself in a convenient vantage point to capture your day as it unfolds, adding details and layers as I go. I typically start painting the background and some key elements before the ceremony begins so that even the finest details aren’t missed.
3. SNAP! Let’s live paint: I go by your guidance and take a picture of the specific moment you want to capture, whether that’s the ceremony, an intimate moment at the location, or photographs with your wedding party and family before dinner. I can then start painting the main picture during your reception.  
4. Final touches: After the wedding, I return the painting to my studio to refine it and add finishing touches. In a few weeks, you’ll have a stunning piece of art ready to hang in your home.

Real Weddings, Real Stories

Every wedding I paint has its own story. Aside from adding in my couples’ beloved pets, I can also add in loved ones. One wedding I’ll never forget involved a couple who asked me to include portraits of their Moms. Unfortunately, both Moms had passed away hears before. I’ll never forget how my Bride and Groom broke down in tears when they finally saw their Moms’ portraits.
