“Is a live wedding painter worth it?” is one of the most frequently asked questions I see pop up on Google and in wedding communities. Of course, the answer to this question is very personal and can vary! Here are three reasons my couples would give you if asked if a live wedding painter is worth it.
Even if your band has twenty musicians, or your DJ headlined in Ibiza, the simple truth is that not every guest is going to want to dance for four hours straight! A live wedding painter provides a much needed, non-dancing entertainment alternative. My couples would tell you that their guests loved checking in on the painting progress every thirty minutes or so. The presence of a live wedding painter provides a wonderful excuse for your guests to take a break and a breather. And, if your live wedding painter is very social, your guests may even learn something new about creating art!
You’re spending so much time and effort creating an incredible experience for your guests. Every detail is special and necessary, but so much of it will be gone by the end of the night. The delicious food will be consumed. The amazing florals will eventually wither. Even your gorgeous photographs may never make it off Facebook. But, your live wedding painting is an heirloom you will actually be able to keep. It was created on your wedding day, and it has to be displayed on a wall!
Your photographers and videographers are tasked with documenting your special day. That’s incredibly important and crucial! However, the beauty of a live wedding painting is the creativity and flexibility. Perhaps you have a dog or other pet that cannot celebrate with you on the big day? They can be added into your painting! Or, perhaps you love your reception attire, but your favorite space is the ceremony space. Those two elements can be cohesively combined! The possibilities are fun and endless.
